You don't have to try so hard...

Hey everyone! I hope this post finds you all well.

The title of this post is from the song by Colbie Caillat, Try. It's a song about accepting yourself for how you are and how you look. Most people today are not happy about at least one thing about themselves whether it's how their nose looks, how their voice sounds, their height or any other thing that people can complain about. We all know by now what the airbrushed male and female looks like and what people think is "hot" or "gorgeous."

I have been struggling with my feelings about myself too. Each day though, I try to tell myself at least one thing I like about myself. So if I stare in the mirror it's not because I love my reflection, it's because I'm looking at a positive part of myself. It could be my eye color, hair color or if I'm daydreaming, I think about a nice day outside. We can each take small steps and brief moments to tell ourselves how beautiful we are.

It may be strange that my avatar is wearing makeup in this post but my intent is to show one side of beauty with makeup on. I love my avatar with or without makeup on. I have created a look that I like. My avatar looks this way because it is how I like and it reflects how I feel about myself. I like a gentle, sweet look because that's how I am. She looks kind and unassuming. I have never made my avatar look like Jane Russell or Angelina Jolie because that's not the personality I feel comfortable with. It says a lot about us in the look and skin we choose for our avatars.

Also, I graduated from VISIONAIRE INSTITUTE on Saturday, June 13th! It is a fabulous photography/art school in SL. I learned some tips about improving photography as well as gained inspiration from the example of others. I really love that the graduates and trainees form a loving, supportive community.

At the beginning, we were shown slides that included videos about being comfortable with one's own style. How you feel about yourself will be reflected in your photos, both in SL and in RL. The classes make me think more about how I feel about myself. I think I like myself a little bit more than when I first applied for VISIONAIRE. I am so grateful to Wrennoir Cerise and Nariko Okawa. They are wonderful teachers, wonderful individuals and I hope they provide inspiration to many more students in the future! The little camera on my neck is a graduation present, isn't it great?!

Making a return to blogging

Hi lovelies! I am making a return to blogging. It has been awhile and I know I have missed it. But I knew I needed to focus on my self improvement in the world where I am the typist. Lots of things have been going on in my life. I will not be blogging like before. It will be an infrequent thing but a much needed process that allows me to be creative. It is a type of escape from the rigid requirements that real life can impose on us adults. I have recently created a new shape for the Lelutka Nova head. It is a pretty cool mesh head. Lelutka keeps on improving their mesh heads.  I named my shape Alex . https://flickr.com/photos/victorialenoirre/50906268631/in/dateposted/ Really loving how it turned out. I think my shape creating ability has improved a bunch. After my current class ends in May, I want to start creating shapes for the Lelutka Evo X heads. I am excited to try one out. Take care, V. On the Edge of Something

Hi lovelies! I'm back with another fashion blog post. I present, Zetta, a dress from SlackGirl for the June round of WEIB. It's a monthly sales event that sells items that come with appliers. The taxi for WEIB is here . This is such a lovely shade of teal. There are appliers for TMP, Slink, Belleza, and Maitreya. The dress comes in 5 colors. Teal, black, red, black and pink. Her photo is here . I am wearing the Maitreya version. The applier layers are in the Maitreya loader HUD. There is a separate package with the skirt panels and system layers if you don't want to wear a mesh body. This is such a sexy dress. I feel like a vixen. The Return of Victoria Lenoirre and a new pose!

Hi lovelies! Sorry I've been away so long! My trip was great, but afterwards I got sick. I recovered sometime last week and I finally got inspired to create again. My newest pose is called Stay. It is based on the Rihanna song which features Mikky Echo. I'm really proud of how this photo turned out. I like the water effect a lot. The purple and blue tones create and intensify a sadness that I felt in the song and in the official music video for Stay. Waves come and go and do not stay for more than a minute. The setting for this photo is probably one of the best places I've taken a photo at. Great how that worked out, isn't it? Here's what I wrote at marketplace: A sensual, tender pose inspired by the song Stay by Rihanna. It's such a sad song about wanting to be loved and not wanting to be left behind. I tried to capture that sense of wanting to hold on and not letting go with this pose. Arms are bent into the body, one hand on one arm. The other h...
