Desert Rose and worth the wait

Hi everyone!

I am so proud to present a brand new pose. It is Desert Rose. The song that inspired this pose and the shoot was the song of the same title by Sting.

Since hearing this song over ten years ago, I have been mesmerized by it. The melody, the instruments, the beat....the vocals...it just makes for a phenomenal song. Sting sang the song with Cheb Mami. It was in his album, Brand New Day. That album is one of my favorite albums of all time. The sound is just incredible.

The music video for the song is breathtaking and exotic. I tried my best to recreate the mood. The song is about dreaming of love and wanting it so much. It's filled with awe, frustration, desperation...and so many other deep emotions. The way Sting and Cheb sing, it really tugs at my heart and always will.

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

Since 2011, I have searched for desert locations in SL. The amount is limited. I know of one or two I like, but I wanted an exotic feel. And I wanted to get a bit of the horizon.

After going through SL inworld search and searching many times on the SL marketplace, I decided to use a desert texture. You're probably thinking, "Oh no, not a flat texture!" I was just so excited to finally make a pose based on this song. I added a sand effect in GIMP. I couldn't find any tutorials so I came up with an effect using one of the included brushes along with gaussian blur and a smudge brush. And, I am so pleased with the font I found.

If I do more desert shoots (I know I will), I will definitely buy some props. And actually, there are some really nice desert textures at marketplace.

Deciding on an outfit was difficult. I found a handful I liked as well as jewelry to go with the outfits. There are some wonderful designers out there. The outfit I chose is a Gorean silks set. While I don't support or disapprove of the lifestyle...people can live as they choose, I do like the cut and design of the silks, kirtles, and camisks. They are just so provocative and hot. The fabric textures are so well done. Thanks Marbella Provonost, keep on creating!

I also want to thanks Siddean Monroe. Her mesh feet are so easy to use and they are very finely shaped. I am confident that I matched the feet to my skin really well, maybe even better than when I wear mesh shoes. I will check later to see if my mesh hands are up to date as well.

What I'm wearing:

hair: =DeLa*= Boobs Mesh Scarlett Black 4
Gorean silks: ~Soedara~ Beaute Drapee White, includes wrist cuffs, circlet and anklets
belly piercing: ~Soedara~ Nubian Divinity Belly Piercing Simple {Gold}
feet: Slink mesh

My newest can be found here.

Have fun and enjoy the art!

Vic

Making a return to blogging

Hi lovelies! I am making a return to blogging. It has been awhile and I know I have missed it. But I knew I needed to focus on my self improvement in the world where I am the typist. Lots of things have been going on in my life. I will not be blogging like before. It will be an infrequent thing but a much needed process that allows me to be creative. It is a type of escape from the rigid requirements that real life can impose on us adults. I have recently created a new shape for the Lelutka Nova head. It is a pretty cool mesh head. Lelutka keeps on improving their mesh heads.  I named my shape Alex . https://flickr.com/photos/victorialenoirre/50906268631/in/dateposted/ Really loving how it turned out. I think my shape creating ability has improved a bunch. After my current class ends in May, I want to start creating shapes for the Lelutka Evo X heads. I am excited to try one out. Take care, V. On the Edge of Something

Hi lovelies! I'm back with another fashion blog post. I present, Zetta, a dress from SlackGirl for the June round of WEIB. It's a monthly sales event that sells items that come with appliers. The taxi for WEIB is here . This is such a lovely shade of teal. There are appliers for TMP, Slink, Belleza, and Maitreya. The dress comes in 5 colors. Teal, black, red, black and pink. Her photo is here . I am wearing the Maitreya version. The applier layers are in the Maitreya loader HUD. There is a separate package with the skirt panels and system layers if you don't want to wear a mesh body. This is such a sexy dress. I feel like a vixen. The Return of Victoria Lenoirre and a new pose!

Hi lovelies! Sorry I've been away so long! My trip was great, but afterwards I got sick. I recovered sometime last week and I finally got inspired to create again. My newest pose is called Stay. It is based on the Rihanna song which features Mikky Echo. I'm really proud of how this photo turned out. I like the water effect a lot. The purple and blue tones create and intensify a sadness that I felt in the song and in the official music video for Stay. Waves come and go and do not stay for more than a minute. The setting for this photo is probably one of the best places I've taken a photo at. Great how that worked out, isn't it? Here's what I wrote at marketplace: A sensual, tender pose inspired by the song Stay by Rihanna. It's such a sad song about wanting to be loved and not wanting to be left behind. I tried to capture that sense of wanting to hold on and not letting go with this pose. Arms are bent into the body, one hand on one arm. The other h...
